This Beat License Agreement ("Agreement") is between the Producer who owns or controls the beat, the Artist/Buyer who purchases a license, and Beatafrik as the marketplace facilitating the transaction. Purchasing a beat does not automatically transfer copyright ownership, unless exclusive rights are specifically purchased and transferred.
Beat / Instrumental — the audio work being licensed. Producer — the creator/rights-holder. Artist / Buyer — the person purchasing a license. License — the specific usage rights granted by a purchase. Master Recording — the actual audio file. Composition — the underlying musical work. Commercial Use — use intended to generate revenue. Non-Commercial Use — personal or non-monetized use. Exclusive Rights — sole ownership/usage sold to one buyer. Non-Exclusive License — usage rights that may also be sold to others.
After successful payment, the Producer grants the Buyer permission to use the beat according to the purchased license. Depending on the tier, this generally allows the Buyer to record vocals over the beat, create a new song, distribute the finished song, perform it publicly, and promote it. Exactly which of these rights apply depends on the license tier purchased — see below.
Allows limited commercial use, song release, digital distribution, and social media promotion.
Restrictions: limited streams/views, limited performances, no resale of the beat, and no transfer of ownership.
Maximum streams: [set by producer, typically up to 5,000]
Maximum music videos: [set by producer, typically 1]
Distribution platforms: [as specified by the producer on the license terms]
Includes higher usage limits, broader commercial rights, a larger distribution allowance, and coverage for a professional release. Copyright ownership remains with the Producer under this tier.
Grants the broadest non-exclusive usage rights — unlimited distribution, unlimited streams, full commercial usage, and permission for use in advertising or other content creation. The Producer still retains copyright ownership unless exclusive rights are separately purchased.
When exclusive rights are purchased, the Producer agrees not to license that beat to any new buyers going forward, the Buyer receives exclusive usage rights, and the Producer removes the beat from future marketplace sales. Whether copyright ownership itself transfers depends on the specific exclusive agreement for that sale. Exclusive rights may include full commercial use, unlimited distribution, and (if specified) full ownership transfer.
Unless explicitly transferred through an exclusive sale, the Producer retains copyright ownership, the Buyer receives usage rights only, the beat cannot be resold, and the beat cannot be registered anywhere as the Buyer's own original composition.
The Buyer may not resell the beat, upload the instrumental separately anywhere, claim ownership of the original beat, register it as their own work, create unauthorized sub-licenses, or transfer their rights to another person without permission.
This covers platforms like YouTube Content ID and other streaming-platform copyright systems. Artists should not file Content ID or ownership claims against the original beat itself unless specifically permitted by their license.
Buyers should credit the producer where required by their license — typically in the format "Produced by [Producer Name]." Exact credit requirements may vary depending on the license tier purchased.
A license becomes active immediately after successful payment. Digital purchases are generally non-refundable once files have been delivered. Your license information is stored together with your purchase record in your account.
Refunds may be considered for duplicate purchases, technical delivery issues, or unauthorized charges. Refunds generally do not apply once files have been downloaded or the license has been used.
Disputes between a Buyer and Producer, or between a Buyer and Beatafrik, are handled through an investigation process — both sides submit evidence, and Beatafrik reviews the situation to reach a resolution.
A license may be terminated if the Buyer violates its terms, uses the beat illegally, or fails to complete required payment.
Beatafrik provides the marketplace platform, processes transactions, and connects producers with buyers. Beatafrik does not create or claim ownership of any beat unless explicitly stated otherwise.
By purchasing a beat through Beatafrik, the Buyer confirms they have read and accepted this Agreement.
